What is a Pet Wellness Exam?

A pet wellness exam is an extensive examination that provides your pet with a complete assessment of their physical and mental health. It’s very similar to a physical examination for humans.

Your pet’s veterinarian will check all of the major body systems such as cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary, reproductive, and more to ensure they are functioning properly.

They’ll also perform a behavioral analysis so we can be sure there aren’t any obvious signs of psychological or emotional problems which could lead to illness.

The Importance of Pet Wellness Exams

Pet wellness exams are importantbecause it gives pet owners the opportunity to act early if there is something wrong.

If your pet’s veterinarian finds something during a pet wellness exam they can treat them before it becomes worse and more difficult to manage.

This is especially true for pets with chronic illnesses like diabetes or heart disease, but pet wellness exams are also crucial for young healthy animals too.
